Brigitta is a partner in Harper James’ corporate team, specialising in M&A, sales, equity fundraising, joint venture arrangements, share reorganisations, management buy-outs, lending arrangements and corporate governance.
"I enjoy the variety of businesses and sectors that our clients operate in, which makes no two days the same. It’s great to see a business grow and develop from start-up to beyond. My client approach is pragmatic and commercial."
Brigitta trained and qualified as a corporate solicitor in 2002 with a multinational law firm. She also spent several years working in-house in the semiconductor technology sector, managing a global legal team and advising on cross-border acquisitions, investments, divestments, integration and intercompany arrangements.
"My in-house experience was an eye-opener to corporate procedures and processes. This enables me to be far more commercial in my legal approach and provides an understanding of the challenges faced by general counsels and the demands of management. It also enabled me to understand at a deeper level the specific legal challenges facing technology businesses."
As well as the technology sector, Brigitta advises clients in a wide variety of other sectors including biotechnology, commercial property development, food and drink, professional services, transport and haulage, general manufacturing and engineering and retail.
Work highlights include:
- Acting for the sellers in the sale of the entire issued share capital of Barry Fleming and Partners, a financial services and wealth management firm, to Kingswood for £6.2m.
- Supporting the sellers in the sale of their e-commerce business Maher London Ltd to UAP Ltd.
- Guiding a financial services technology company through a £5m equity funding round.
- Supporting an electric vehicle battery technology company through a £2.5m equity funding round.
- Advising cyber security technology company ARX Alliance Limited on equity funding, conversion of its Future Fund loan and follow-on investments.
Outside of work, Brigitta spends a lot of her time keeping fit.
"I spend most of my spare time walking the Labradoodle on the local hill known as the Gogs, trying to fit in a gym or swimming session and catching up on current affairs."
