Brigitta qualified in 2002 and is a corporate partner. She joined Harper James in February 2022.
Brigitta specialises in company/business acquisitions and sales, equity fundraising, joint venture arrangements, share reorganisations, management buy-outs, corporate governance and EMI share schemes.
Brigitta also enjoys helping businesses with their general commercial needs such as supply and sale agreements, licensing of technology and distribution.
I enjoy the variety of businesses and sectors that our clients operate in which makes no two days the same. It’s great to see a business grow and develop from start up to beyond. My client approach is pragmatic and commercial.
Brigitta trained and qualified as a corporate solicitor in 2002 with Eversheds (now known as Eversheds Sutherland) working in its Cambridge and London offices until 2008. She then joined Shepherd and Wedderburn as a specialist corporate finance knowledge lawyer until 2014 before moving in-house to a well known multi-national technology company headquartered in Cambridge. Her time in-house was spent project managing a global legal team and advising the business on cross-border acquisitions, investments, divestments, integration and intercompany arrangements. She returned to general practice in 2018 and lead the corporate and commercial legal service from the Cambridge office of Howes Percival prior to joining Harper James.
My in-house experience was an eye-opener to corporate procedures and processes. This enables me to be far more commercial in my legal approach and provides understanding of the challenges faced by general counsels and the demands of management. It also enabled me to understand at a deeper level the specific legal challenges facing technology businesses.
As well as the technology sector, Brigitta advises clients in a wide variety of other sectors including commercial property development and investment, food and drink, professional services, transport/haulage, general manufacturing and engineering and retail.
Outside of work, Brigitta spends a lot of her time walking and relaxing with her son.
I spend most of my spare time with my son, walking the labradoodle on the local hill known as the Gogs, trying to fit in a gym or swimming session and catching up on current affairs.
