Callum is a senior corporate solicitor at Harper James, specialising in mergers and acquisitions and investments, as well as other corporate/commercial matters.
When asked what he thinks clients value most about working with him, Callum said:
Clients tell me they appreciate my approachability. Many individuals or businesses approaching solicitors have an almost superstitious expectation that lawyers will be difficult, or ‘cold’ in their professionalism. While professionalism is always key, there’s no need to be distant – especially since we’re working together with the client as a team.
Callum graduated from the University of Warwick in 2013, with a year studying at Universiteit Utrecht in the Netherlands. He qualified as a corporate solicitor specialising in mergers and acquisitions in 2018, before joining the Harper James team at the beginning of 2020.
Callum has worked on transactions on behalf of companies or shareholders involved in a variety of different sectors and industries, particularly media and technology and life sciences.
Having spent time living abroad, Callum is a keen traveller. He also pursues his interests in philosophy and rock climbing whenever he can.
Calum has also taken part in our Spotlight on a Solicitor series, sharing his journey into law and proudest career moments. Read the interview to hear about his life in law.
