Rebecca is a highly experienced lawyer with nearly two decades of experience advising on commercial, technology and data matters. She has helped a diverse range of clients from start-ups to established businesses to national and global brands, as well as the UK Government, across a wide range of sectors such as technology, digital, professional services, retail and manufacturing.
Rebecca’s extensive experience enables her to meaningfully advise clients at every stage of their journey, appreciate the bigger picture, anticipate their needs and effectively guide them through complex legal challenges.
She is equally adept at advising on the 'business as usual' matters, such as terms of business, SaaS and other cloud arrangements, and services agreements, as she is on strategic projects including outsourcings, IT or digital procurements/transformations, and commercial partnerships.
Rebecca worked at a variety of law firms before joining Harper James, from regional to national to a major global firm. She also has considerable in-house secondment experience, including with a major UK retail group and a top-tier global IT supplier. This experience has given Rebecca first-hand insight into what works, what doesn’t, and how to adapt her approach to each client and situation.
Work highlights include:
- Helping a UK IT services supplier to the charity and non-profit sectors across its business to establish and manage new and existing customer, supplier and partner relationships;
- Strengthening an end-to-end IT hardware solution provider’s customer agreement terms and contracting processes by creating, implementing and maintaining new global terms;
- Protecting a start-up supplying a new-to-market Wagyu beef cooking spray, and its product by helping to navigate and document its supply chain arrangements;
- Improving a non-profit campaigning organisation's standard services terms and customer agreements to ensure that it is protected from key risks whilst offering fair, reasonable terms to its clients.
- Supporting a global network of independent creative specialists, with its global website and data compliance project.
Rebecca lives in the East of England with her family and enjoys Pilates, literature and scuba diving.
