Tania is a senior solicitor with over 20 years’ specialist insolvency experience. She advises across the full spectrum of corporate and personal insolvency, acting for insolvency practitioners, company directors, companies and individual clients on both contentious and non-contentious matters.
She has developed a strong reputation for her work in director protection, advising directors of companies in financial distress and defending them against a range of claims, including disqualification proceedings. Having previously acted for the Insolvency Service on behalf of the Secretary of State, Tania brings a uniquely informed perspective when advising directors who may be at risk of disqualification.
Tania is regularly instructed in a business advisory capacity, supporting directors and boards at every stage of a business’s lifecycle.
She firmly believes that the earlier a director seeks advice, the more options they are likely to preserve. From start-up onwards, Tania helps directors understand their duties, identify and address financial distress at an early stage, minimise personal exposure, and explore whether the business can be rescued or exited in a controlled way.
Tania specialises in providing a range of advisory services, including:
- Early-stage financial and operational warning reviews
- Director duties and personal risk assessments
- Crisis and board-level advisory support
- Management of creditor pressure and negotiations
- Cash flow, runway analysis, and strategic decision planning
- Structured and controlled business wind-down strategies
Tania is particularly well known for her calm, commercial approach, which is often where clients find the greatest value. She is also skilled at delivering difficult messages in a clear and constructive way. Client relationships and service are at the heart of Tania’s practice. She takes the time to understand each client and their business, listens carefully to what they need, and provides advice that is practical, focused and tailored to their objectives.
Tania is a Fellow of R3, the Association of Business Recovery Professionals, and serves on its Education Committee. She is a recognised authority in Sealy & Milman and contributes to both Tolley’s Insolvency Law and Insolvency Intelligence.
She is also a regular speaker at insolvency conferences and delivers specialist training for clients, as well as through R3 and MBL.
Outside of work, Tania is a keen rower on London’s Tideway, having taken up the sport in 2018. She is Captain of her rowing club and regularly competes in races, including the British Masters Championships, where she won a silver medal in her category in a coxless four, and Henley Masters.
