Work with like-minded individuals and free from the bureaucracy of traditional law firms.

An environment with no politics, no bureaucracy and a great team of people who all play a fundamental part in the success and continued growth of our business.

About Harper James

Harper James is a national commercial law firm designed specifically to support entrepreneurial businesses from start-up to scale-up and beyond with top level legal advice at critical stages in their development.

Before establishing the firm in 2014, our Founder and CEO Toby Harper worked in-house for a well-known venture capital firm, where he saw first-hand the barriers start-ups and growing businesses faced in accessing quality legal advice, which led him to set up Harper James.

We aspire to disrupt the model for which legal services are provided to businesses. Regularly referred to as ‘The Netflix of the legal world’, our innovative remote working and subscription model approach to delivering highly tailored, affordable and accessible legal advice is considered genuinely different to the establishment.

Harper James is in its 8th year and hitting a £6m turnover, which we have plans to triple by 2025. Getting in the right talent to support our growth – and theirs – is a key part of our strategy.

Our solicitors talk about the work/life balance they enjoy with us, as well as the benefits of working without the bureaucracy that’s usually found at a traditional law firm.

We’re set apart from traditional commercial law firms by offering our clients three different service plans, including two subscription options.

In this video our Founder and CEO, Toby Harper, explains each option and the types of businesses they’re suitable for.
