How we can help

Experts in Business Immigration law

We help clients at all stage of their journey, whether they are looking to set up a company in the UK, employ foreign workers, or access the skill set of their international workforce.

Our lawyers are experienced in working with a wide variety of clients and businesses to meet all of their immigration needs.

Our clients range from entrepreneurs, start-ups and small businesses to established organisations with a national or international presence. We regularly work with CEOs, HR and Finance Directors as well as applicants to devise the correct approach for their business and secure relevant immigration visas and licences.

Our lawyers have extensive experience of working across a broad range of sectors, providing them with an understanding of the issues they face in terms of their workforce and their recruitment needs and helping them develop an immigration strategy to meet any skills gaps and eliminate any barriers to scaling their business. Our clients come from sectors as wide ranging as technology, finance, hospitality, food production, education, healthcare and the care sector.

We regularly interact with the Home Office at all levels on behalf of our clients, representing them in communications and correspondence and advising and assisting with challenges to Home Office decisions to ensure successful outcomes.

We also undertake the administration of sponsor licences on behalf of our clients, managing licences fully to ensure appropriate use of the licence and complete compliance with Home Office policies and guidance. We offer mock compliance audits and provide extensive feedback to help you ensure your business has the right policies and practices in place to maintain and comply with all legal obligations.

We can provide HR training to ensure anyone responsible for your immigration processes within your business understands their legal obligations relating to any foreign workers you employ.

What we do

Business immigration legal advice

Whether you are an entrepreneurial start-up, established business, busy HR director struggling with recruitment, our solicitors can assist you with the whole range of business immigration related visas and applications and advise on immigration strategy and training for your business. This would include the following:

Business immigration strategy

If you are a business with regular business immigration requirements because of an inability to source staff to meet your recruitment needs in the local market or because you have a globalised workforce, you may wish to develop a policy or strategy to manage the expectations of your business and budget accordingly. Our experienced and up to date solicitors can assist you with planning ahead and developing a strategy to meet your business and workforce needs.

Sponsor Licence applications

Whatever the size and sector of your business, our lawyers can help you apply for a sponsor licence, in the category suitable for your business, enabling you to sponsor foreign workers to fill your vacancies and meet your skills gap. This would include licence applications in the Skilled Worker, Global Business Mobility, Scale-Up and Temporary Worker categories.

Sponsor Licence management

If you lack familiarity with the sponsorship regime or your business does not have the time or resources to manage your sponsor licence, our solicitors offer a service to manage your licence on your behalf. We can be added as representatives and Level 1 Users to your licence, allowing us to assist you with requesting certificate allocations, assigning Certificates of Sponsorship, updating certificates, reporting changes, and manage the general upkeep of the licence.

Mock compliance audits

Where a company holds a sponsor licence, they need to meet certain responsibilities and obligations required of them by the Home Office. The Home Office can undertake compliance audits to ensure that these duties and responsibilities are being met and there is no improper use of the sponsor licence.  We offer mock compliance audits to our clients, where we can review their polices and practices and provide feedback on what they need to change or improve so that they are always prepared in case of a compliance visit from the Home Office.

HR training

Whether your business has a large HR team or a small HR function, our solicitors can offer training tailored to meet your needs. In the past our Business Immigration solicitors have offered training on managing sponsor licences, Business Immigration routes and work visas in general, the Sponsorship regime and compliance, duties and responsibilities, Skilled Worker and Global Business Mobility visas, as well as how to undertake Right to Work checks and record keeping.

Tailored to your business

End to end business immigration support

Our solicitors can assist you with advising and preparing all relevant business immigration visas from the very start to completion and grant of visa. This would include the following:

Skilled Worker visas

We regularly advise and assist with sponsoring and preparing the visa applications for Skilled Workers. We can be involved in the entire process from start to finish ensuring the smooth processing of visas for applicants based in the UK and abroad.

Global Business Mobility visas

We can advise on and help to prepare all visa applications under the Global Business Mobility route: Senior/Specialist Worker visas, Graduate Trainee visas, Secondment Worker visas, Service Supplier visas and UK Expansion Worker visas. We can advise on the criteria and process, and assign certificates and submit applications on behalf of the applicants, to deliver a positive outcome.

Innovator Founder visas

For those entrepreneurs looking to set up a business in the UK, the only route available to them is the Innovator Founder visa. This application involves a 2-stage process: endorsement and visa application. We can review and advise on business plans as part of advising on the endorsement applications, as well as help to prepare and submit the visa application.

Scale-up Worker visas

Where you have a fast-growing UK business, you may be eligible to sponsor individuals on a Scale-up Worker visa. We can advise and assist you with processing Scale-Up Worker visas for your workers where your business qualifies. We would assist with the application from start to finish and assisting to ensure that the application is granted.

Temporary visas

Our solicitors can advise and assist with all temporary visa applications under the following routes: Government Authorised Exchange visas, Creative Worker, Religious Worker, Charity Worker, Seasonal Worker, International Agreement visas. Our advice would cover assistance with the certificate of sponsorship as well as the visa application.

Global Talent visas

Where you are considered to be a leader or a potential leader in your industry, you may qualify for a Global Talent visa. This involves a 2-stage process, an endorsement stage and a visa application. We would be able to assist with both stages, advising on supporting documents and preparing and submitting the applications on your behalf.

Business visitor

Where you need to invite foreign workers, contractors or other related business professionals for certain activities such as training or meetings in the UK, you may need to apply for a Business Visitor visa for them.  We can advise and assist with the entire application, to give you ease of mind regarding the process.

Additional visa categories

We also regularly advise on and can assist with post study worker visas such as High Potential Individual visas and Graduate Visas, and can assist with applications under the UK Ancestry, Youth Mobility and British National Overseas routes.

Most but not all visa categories have provisions for dependants and family members, and we can also assist with these where required.

Often applicants are looking to eventually settle in the UK and apply for British nationality. We regularly advise and assist with Indefinite Leave to Remain applications and British citizenship applications for our clients as well.

Meet our experts

Why choose our business immigration lawyers?

We make it our business to know the ever-changing corporate immigration laws and the complexities of immigration rules under the UK points based system so you don’t have to. When working with us, we focus on understanding what your business is striving to achieve and we know that instead of offering complicated legal explanations, you want practical and cost-effective solutions to your immigration challenges, delivered efficiently and effectively. We do that by:

Team work – working in collaboration with you to understand your business plans and support you with any business immigration challenges and opportunities you may have. This extends to drawing on our specialist employment, corporate and intellectual property law teams so you get the joined-up legal advice you need, whether that relates to employment contracts and policies, company formation, mergers & acquisitions, IP protection or reviewing your existing commercial contracts to make them fit for purpose in the UK once your UK expansion worker has set up the UK based subsidiary company.

Client focus – business immigration is all about individuals, whether your business is hiring global talent or whether you are an individual looking to move to the UK on a work visa, accompanied by your family on dependant visas. We take the time to understand your needs so we can come up with the best global mobility and immigration solutions that meet your business or personal circumstances.

Professional paperwork – the key to a successful Home Office application is professional paperwork supported by the correct documentation, whether it is for a sponsor licence application, an application for a skilled worker visa or an innovator visa. Faced with longwinded immigration rules and Home Office guidance written without plain English in mind, we help simplify this and we will efficiently and reliably produce the paperwork needed to achieve a successful outcome.
