Gosia is a specialist Senior Contentious intellectual property lawyer at Harper James. Gosia has over 14 years of experience in advising clients in respect of IP and commercial dispute resolution spanning across two jurisdictions. 

Prior to joining Harper James, Gosia led contentious IP practice at Geldards LLP where she spent 7 years working with a variety of clients originating from private, charity and public sectors. Gosia has advised in a range of small, medium and large IP and commercial disputes, including complex and high value litigation. She also guided clients in relation to out-of-court settlements and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) strategies. 

Gosia has been featured for many years as a Tier 1 Recommended Lawyer and subsequently Rising Star in Intellectual Property law by the Legal 500. Her contentious IP practice has also been top-ranked by Chambers & Partners. 

Prior to joining private practice, Gosia worked in-house advising leading beauty brands in relation to IP asset management strategies and commercial law matters. 

Over the years, she collaborated closely with business, education and community networks in South Wales and the South West delivering practical talks on protection of IP rights to entrepreneurs, business communities and at postgraduate courses for a Russell Group university. She also delivered IP-focused student programmes via IP Inclusive Careers in Ideas.

  • Advised a sporting body in relation to trade mark and passing off disputes and brand strategy 
  • Advised a leading UK NHS cancer trust in relation to its £7.5m breach of license agreement claim related to use of IP rights against a major international pharmaceutical company.  

Away from work, she enjoys yoga, bodyboarding, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She is a qualified MHFA.
