Get in touch

Michelle qualified as a commercial property solicitor in 2007 and has experience advising on all aspects of commercial property work including acquisitions and disposals, portfolio work, business tenancies including pre-lets, development schemes including mixed use developments, option and overage agreements, asset management, funding and property management. Michelle has particular expertise in real estate finance and corporate support work (assisting the corporate team with company and business acquisitions and sales).

I have experience working with clients ranging from private individuals to large PLCs and multinationals in different sectors. This allows me to deal with a wide range of transactions and means I am able to understand clients differing business needs – something which is integral to being able to offer tailored legal, yet commercial advice. I enjoy getting to know my clients and the way that they operate.  I am approachable, responsive and commercial – key qualities for meeting client expectations.

Some examples of Michelle’s experience include:

  • Acting for an international engineering services organisation looking to reduce their letting size by way of an underlease.
  • Acting for a private lender on a number of investment and development finance transactions including undertaking due diligence to provide reports on title, certificates of title, reviewing valuation reports, facility agreements, debentures, deeds of priority, undertakings etc. Lending values of up to £70m.
  • Acting for an institutional bank in the refinance of a variety of properties – commercial and mixed use with various values.
  • Acting for a tenant travel company on the grant of a lease of their flagship London office with an annual rent in excess of £300,000.
  • Undertaking portfolio management for a large restaurant chain with units all over the UK.  Advice ranged from the acquisition of new units with development agreements, re-gears, surrenders, renewal leases, outdoor and storage unit licences, licences for works, licences to assign/underlet etc.
  • Acting for a large American sportswear retailer on new retail units within the UK – agreeing and completing agreements for leases and new leases together with ancillary documentation – licences for works, car parking licences etc.
  • Acting for a large supermarket chain in the acquisition of 129 petrol stations for a value of £600m from another retail chain.
  • Acting for the administrators of a large international fitness club chain on pre-packs, licences and surrenders of their let premises.

Outside of work, Michelle enjoys spending time with her family and has an active lifestyle:

I have three boys so spend a lot of time on the side of a football pitch! I enjoy running, traveling and I am currently renovating our new house.
