Advising Sikoia on their £1.6m pre-seed funding to take them to the next level
Sikoia

Sikoia’s mission is to help fintechs, lenders and corporates to navigate and capitalise on the latest financial innovations. By unifying third party data and APIs into a single interface with automated workflows and advanced analytics, Sikoia has been able to develop solutions that extend the capabilities of existing systems, increase efficiency, and reduce regulatory risk.

Sikoia has attracted investment from a string of renowned tech founders through Europe's Earlybird and Seedcamp. Harper James advised the innovative fintech company through the pre-seed funding round, which totals $2.3m (£1.6m), which will now help accelerate their product development and functionality expansion.

The business has also attracted angel investment from several industry titans, including Raffael Johnen, CEO of Auxmoney; Fabian Weseman, CFO of Wefox; and Charlie Delingpole, CEO of ComplyAdvantage.

Stephen Evans, our corporate solicitor, who advised Sikoia through their funding round, said: 'The funding secured will help enable a forward-thinking business with a big future to now go to the next level. Given Sikoia’s stage in its business life cycle, the level of funding in place underlines what an important player the company is now set to be within this growing sector.'

'The pandemic has seen businesses that can solve problems within the fintech space thrive and Sikoia is now at the start of an exciting journey as a business. We look forward to continuing to support them through it.'

'Sikoia’s founders are ready to scale: former investor at SoftBank Vision Fund and covering financial institutions at Merrill Lynch & Moelis, Alexis Rog (CEO), knows fintech first-hand. His co-founders, Stephen Simmons (Chief Data Officer) and Alastair Bulger (CCO) bring strong technical and commercial background plus extensive financial services and start-up experience.'

Paying tribute to the support we provided, their CEO, Alexis Rog said: 'We were very impressed by the efficiency of the service we received. Having strong legal service support in place is vital for any business entering into a funding round.'

Commenting on the funding round, Alexis added: 'With such a strong network of investors on board, we not only have their endorsement and confidence but their insight and experience to support us as we head to public launch.'
