Engage, Enable and Extend – new service plan names, same outstanding value

Engage, Enable and Extend – new service plan names, same outstanding value

Ten years ago, our founder and CEO, Toby Harper, was sure of two things: that the traditional law firm model was broken, and that many early stage and growing businesses were missing out on the advice they needed to thrive at the most critical stages, because the cost of legal support was out of reach.

And so Harper James was born. A very different type of law firm - purpose built for businesses to access commercial advice from exceptional senior solicitors, receive outstanding client service from a team that really understands growing and entrepreneurial businesses and, crucially, benefit from transparent and accessible pricing.

Our service plans and subscriptions – a rare alternative to traditional legal pricing – were developed by Toby in those early years, to offer three different ways to access and budget for legal advice. ’City’ provided one-off ‘city standard’ advice for ad-hoc needs and projects; ‘Enterprise’ - a subscription plan for smaller businesses with 50% discount on our Standard Rates; and ‘On-Demand’ – comprehensive advice at discounted rates for established businesses with more complex and ongoing legal needs.

Through our plans, we’ve supported over 5,000 businesses with their legal needs since 2014. But like most of our clients, we’ve grown, and we knew that the names of our service plans needed to evolve as well to better reflect what they offer, who they’re relevant for and how they’re designed to support our clients, whatever their size or stage in their business lifecycle.

With that, we’re excited to share our rebranded service plans. City, Enterprise and On-Demand are now known as Engage, Enable and Extend - offering exactly the same quality of service, flexibility and outstanding value as before.

Engage

  • Engage us as legal needs arise, with no ongoing commitment.
  • An alternative to our subscription plans, offering access to full service legal expertise on a project-by-project basis at highly competitive rates, with Standard Rates typically at £290 per hour for partners and senior solicitors.

Enable

  • Purpose-built legal subscription plan to enable, protect and support the growth of start-ups and smaller businesses.
  • 12-month subscription plan for £215 per month, with £145 monthly credit towards future work, and access to all legal services at 50% discount on our Standard Rates.

Extend

  • Comprehensive legal partnership for established businesses with more extensive legal needs.
  • Fully account managed and scalable annual subscription plan with support from a curated team of partners and senior solicitors, with up to 34% discount on our Standard Rates.

Most of our lawyers have worked either in-house at a large, international business, or at a partner level at one of the top 100 UK law firms. But through our remote-working model, smart use of technology and our lawyers being able to focus only on supporting clients, we are able to offer significantly lower rates when compared with other law firms.

You can find out more about the plans on our Pricing & Service Plan page.
