Corinne has many years of experience helping clients with trade mark prosecution work, namely:
- Counselling a client from the initial enquiry to filing a trade mark application (and beyond!).
- Carrying out clearance searches and advising the client.
- Filing applications domestically (or via WIPO) and liaising with foreign counsel to file applications and then managing any applications filed – from dealing with registry objections to third party oppositions.
- Liaising with third parties to negotiate consent/coexistence agreements or initiating any cancellation actions if necessary to clear the path to registration.
- Managing, advising and handling trade mark renewals.
- Managing the life-cycle of a trade mark and trade mark portfolios for larger clients.
Examples of her experience includes:
- Assisting in managing the global trade mark portfolios for a Fortune 500 Holding company.
- Helping a well known makeup brand manage its global trade mark portfolio.
- Working closely alongside a number of clients spanning a number of industries in strategizing the exploitation of their IP and cementing their IP rights nationally and internationally.
- Assisting with the trade mark and intellectual property aspects of a global rebrand for one of the largest accounting firms in the world.
I have been fortunate enough to work alongside some big-name brands, as well as with individual entrepreneurs and smaller businesses, both in-house and in private practice, so my experience is something I can offer to new clients! I pride myself in developing strong client relationships and am most fulfilled when I can really add value to the client and when the client trusts me to manage its intellectual creations. Seeing an idea into fruition is a very satisfying aspect of the role.
Outside of work, Corinne likes to travel and explore new cultures and meet new people. Corinne has just spent a few years in Austin, Texas. Aside from that, you will find Corinne walking her dog (Lab&Golden mix), and spending time with her two children, preferably outdoors! Corinne also considers herself a foodie, and she loves trying new restaurants. Corinne also regularly practices yoga.
