Jo Wilson

Jo is a Senior Dispute Resolution Solicitor who qualified in 2010 and joined Harper James in April 2023.

On qualification, Jo worked for BLM LLP (now Clyde and Co LLP) where for 6 years she specialised in professional indemnity and property damage. She has acted for some of the largest UK insurers, advising on policy cover and defending claims brought against their insured clients. Jo likes to work collaboratively with clients, believing this will help them achieve the best possible outcome.

I am always happy to explore options and strategies with my clients. I believe this open and collaborative approach not only empowers clients to remain in control but also ensures that we are all aligned and working towards the same goals.

In addition to working for large insurance companies, Jo has more recently also worked for smaller firms where she has helped them resolve disputes with energy suppliers.

Lately, I have assisted a number of clients in resolving disputes with their energy providers, particularly addressing issues such as errors in bills, including misapplication of the EBRS. We have successfully reduced account balances through meticulous error identification and appropriate application of the back billing rules and in some cases have averted threats of disconnection. It’s rewarding to achieve positive outcomes for my clients in these situations.

Jo‘s focus is always on reaching settlement of a client’s dispute in a timely manner, with a sharp focus on achieving her client’s objectives and minimising costs.  Jo enjoys competing in the Oxfordshire netball league. She also enjoys swimming, cycling and running.
