Kate trained with Clyde & Co in the City and worked for CMS Cameron McKenna in Hong Kong. Most recently she worked in-house for a leading financial services company, where she was involved in M&As, fundraisings, European business and regulatory and governance matters.
Kate has many years of experience in advising both start-ups and global entities, as well as investment vehicles and high net worth individuals.
She can advise on the daily commercial issues that crop up when running a business and on the key decisions that need to be made when faced with the need for more investment, expansion, reduction or exit.
What inspired you to get into law?
I was inspired by a talk from lawyers when I was a journalist. I realised law was a career that would use my brain and keep me challenged as it constantly changes.
What Is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
Working with clients to get them the right outcome so that they can move forward, engaging all necessary stakeholders along the way. I really enjoy hearing about the different businesses our clients run and seeing how we can help get them to the next stage of their business adventure.
What do you do away from work/outside the office?
I like to be busy. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, playing sport, travelling, reading, making the most of London's culture and developing my interest in the wonderful world of fragrance. I enjoy voluntary work, including speaking to schools through the national charity Inspiring the Future, and local initiatives involving disadvantaged people.
