We are growing our Financial Services practice and have a unique opportunity for an experienced senior lawyer/partner to join us in a partner role, to collaborate and work alongside our incumbent partner in order to rapidly build and grow the team.
We are looking for someone who has the network, contacts and clients to hit the ground running. You might already be in a partner role or looking for a step up.

Harper James is a national commercial law firm designed to support entrepreneurial businesses from start-up to exit. We aspire to disrupt the model for which legal services are provided to businesses. The firm’s innovative approach to delivering highly tailored and accessible legal advice is considered genuinely different to the establishment.
Harper James was founded in 2014 and continues to grow at c40%+ year on year. Today we are more than 117 people, who will support more than 2500 businesses this financial year and will turnover around £13m. We expect to double in size over the next 3 years.

Our lawyers work on an employed and flexible basis, working remotely with access to meeting space in Birmingham, Cambridge, London, Manchester, Oxford and Sheffield.

What does the ideal candidate look like?
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced and highly skilled Financial Services Solicitor to play a pivotal leadership role within our firm, driving our financial services practice to new heights. As a Partner, you will have a significant impact on our firm’s growth, reputation, and the clients we work with.
You’ll ideally have experience in building or growing a team or an interest in doing so. You will also have wide ranging Financial Services experience, ideally with some exposure to:-
- Payment Services
- Electronic Money
- Consumer Credit
- General financial services experience including investments, insurance, claims management, benchmarking and home finance
