Trade Mark Attorney

Apply now

Harper James (Ireland) Ltd proposes to go on the record at the EUIPO as an “Association of Representatives” and we are looking for 2 trade mark attorneys to join us on a freelance and flexible basis.

An Association of Representatives is – quite simply – two or more persons entitled to go on the register of trade mark agents before the EUIPO. You will use your own practitioner ID when dealing with the EUIPO and sign off as being part of the Harper James Association of Representatives. By joining this Association, you will get access to one of the most exciting client bases held by any firm – that of Harper James Solicitors.

Who we are

Harper James Solicitors in the UK is a growing and ambitious firm advising a client base of cutting edge SMEs, medium size enterprises and larger businesses.

Our post-Brexit plan – like us – combines innovation and long-term sustainable thinking. By setting up a qualifying Association of Representatives, we will be providing meaningful long-term opportunities to European Trade Mark Attorneys who will share in the benefits of the firm’s growth.

What we offer

  • a role within a team heading up the EU trade mark and design strategy for a client base of cutting edge SMEs, medium size enterprises and larger businesses.
  • collegial strategic collaboration with our UK-based experts who coordinate our clients’ worldwide portfolios via our network of associates.
  • indemnity insurance.
  • a competitive hourly rate.
  • access to professional trade mark/design right software (WebTMS) and support from fully qualified CITMA level paralegals plus our legal assistants.
  • a highly efficient system with admin, marketing and billing all centralised so that you are free to spend your time thinking about our clients.
  • We welcome candidates who have had career breaks, have caring obligations or who otherwise just appreciate the benefits of working flexibly.

What do you need?

  • to be a French registered Trade Mark Attorney with residence in the EU.
  • to be willing to practise within an Association of Representatives within the EUTMR (see guidelines here)
  • to be of the utmost integrity, diligent, responsive and passionate about helping owner-managed businesses and those who invest in them.
  • to have the maturity and ability to form relationships via remote working.
