Escape the traditional law firm set up

People who join us are often looking to escape the traditional law firm setup. We have built our firm from the clients up: we built how we operate through how our clients like to operate. Our clients want fast response times and commercial, practical advice based on real-world business life.

Our lawyers often come from in-house roles and so know how a business operates as well as they know the law. Our previous in-house lawyers sometimes find that they want to work with a range of businesses to stretch their skills. We expect you to know your stuff and be as interested in our clients’ businesses that you can to know theirs too.

We are also attractive to lawyers closer to the start of their career who may feel hampered by the confines of a long PQE before they get to work more closely with clients or lead a team. If you have the ability and the desire, we will help you to deliver your potential quickly.

Most of our lawyers have worked from home since the inception of Harper James in 2014. It allowed us to grow quickly and give our team the flexibility that most wanted. We do have offices now though and those that want to work next to their colleagues in any of our offices around the country, are welcome to do so.

Mavericks, ambitious upstarts, and those looking to work in a way that suits them better and with innovative and entrepreneurial clients, should all apply now.

Contact Leah Horwood, Head of Talent at Harper James, if you would like to progress your career and be a part of our journey. Our process starts with an informal chat.
