BNPL changes in July 2026: Compliance obligations and options for merchants

BNPL changes in July 2026: Compliance obligations and options for merchants

Live Webinar | Tuesday 19 May 2026, 12:30-13:00 PM

From 15 July 2026, the rules for third-party provided Buy Now, Pay Later credit (BNPL), also referred to by the FCA as Deferred Payment Credit (DPC), are changing.

If your business offers BNPL at checkout, or you are considering offering customers short-term, interest-free instalment options, these changes may affect your customer journey, provider arrangements, marketing and compliance obligations.

There is also an important earlier date to be aware of : 15 May 2026, when the FCA’s temporary permissions notification window opens for in-scope third-party BNPL lenders. For merchants relying on third-party BNPL, where the lender is not currently authorised to provide regulated credit, that makes provider readiness a live issue well before the 15 July implementation date.

Join our free 30-minute webinar  with financial services experts John Pauley and Charles Rogers for a practical overview of what is changing, who is affected, and what businesses should do now to prepare.
