Harper James increases offering in Cambridge with new offices

We've expanded our operations into Cambridge by taking on office space at Cambridge Innovation Park, a move which reflects our growing portfolio of hi-tech clients and which now includes Cambridge-based technology start-up, Cauldron Science.

Founded in 2011, Cauldron provides bespoke software targeted at behavioural scientists. In 2015 the company launched cloud software platform www.gorilla.sc - a resource now used globally to collect data required for research, teaching and learning through novel online experiments.

Earlier this year Cauldron appointed us to deliver its legal services; gaining access to ‘much needed advice spanning the myriad of matters affecting any ambitious, growing, global technology firm’.

The expansion to Cambridge Innovation Park will allow us to expand our reach across the UK, with our headquarters in Sheffield and two further offices in Birmingham and London.

Our Founder and CEO Toby Harper commented: “Having access to office space in Cambridge will allow us to operate more efficiently in the Eastern UK market with the key focus of this advancement being to have the capacity to provide further support for our clients in the region, whilst also attracting new clients to sign up to our range of legal services. Cambridge is the acknowledged UK hub for ambitious technology based start up businesses of which Cauldron is an exciting example.

“With many of our solicitors working remotely, it’s great to have this extra space which means that we can have representatives operating across the country with space available for face-to-face meetings with new and existing clients as needed.”

Jo Evershed, CEO of Cauldron Science, added: “What attracted us to the Harper James’ Enterprise service was the ability to tap into a range of legal expertise on a month by month basis without having to commit fully to in-house counsel, and without incurring huge costs.

“As a growing but still relatively new business, we’re not always aware of what our legal requirements will be from month to month; so this provides a perfect solution.”
