Skillcast collaboration helps employees log on and learn about returning to work
Skillcast

Harper James Solicitors and digital learning and compliance consultancy Skillcast are helping ensure thousands of employees can safely return to work during the COVID-19 pandemic.

From 15th June, the government relaxed lockdown restrictions allowing many small and medium sized businesses, especially those on the high street, to return to shops and offices.

However, strict regulations mean the onus is on employers to make sure that their employees can return to work safely and in line with new rules on social distancing.

With that in mind, employment compliance experts Skillcast have created a new range of e-learning courses to help employers manage their regulatory compliance risk. The online courses focus on how workplaces can be adapted quickly to make them COVID-19 compliant. There’s advice for employers whose teams are still working remotely too.

The courses have been created with the help of Harper James’ employment partner Simon Gilmour. Simon has been working closely with Skillcast’s learning team to ensure the effective roll-out of the programme: 'It has been rewarding to work with Skillcast at what is such a critical period for many small firms in the UK. We’ve offered guidance to ensure the new courses meet legal requirements and best practice. And we’ve also been able to provide practical advice based on our own experiences and those of our clients.'

Our business relationship has naturally grown to cover other areas of legal advice, according to Skillcast CEO Vivek Dodd: 'We initially selected Harper James for their coverage of our requirements, flexibility in how we could work, and transparency in charging. Since then, we’ve worked with several amazing lawyers, each of whom has added more value than we expected! When we first sought advice for revising our commercial contracts, what we received was a framework that goes beyond just terms and conditions. It also addresses client onboarding, building sustainable client relationships, and more.'
