Business Legal Services

Business Dispute Case Assessment

Rely on us to be your objective friend; to understand the ins and outs of your dispute and assess the prospects of your claim or defence being successful.

Our service is a quick, low risk way to get an expert legal view on your dispute. One of our senior business dispute solicitors will review the key evidence that you have to support your position.

We will provide you with a written report letting you know if your claim or defence is likely to be successful. If you decide to pursue your claim, we will set out a roadmap to help you get there.

Assess your case

What is included in the service?

One of our senior business dispute solicitors will review your contracts, key documents, and other forms of evidence relevant to your claim or defence. We will then provide you with a written case assessment report that will set out the options available to you. In the report we will suggest the best option for you to take to resolve your dispute. Your solicitor will also discuss the commercial viability of your claim or defence with you.

As part of our service, we will provide you with an estimate for what you are likely to pay in legal fees, should your dispute proceed. A solicitor will also highlight any immediate problematic issues that will need to be addressed.

Benefits at a glance

An experienced business disputes solicitor will review your claim or defence, quickly getting to the heart of your dispute. You can expect a written summary clearly setting out your legal position, with actionable next steps.

Having an early case assessment will help you to:

Adopt the right strategy from the outset

Seeking legal advice early on will ensure you adopt the right strategy from the outset. Often, we find that businesses involved in a dispute leave it too late and often say or do things that compromise their position. When you use our fixed fee service, an experienced business disputes solicitor will help you clearly identify the best option available to you early on in the process, maximising your chances of succeeding with your claim or defence.

Stop costs from spiralling out of control

Disputes can be expensive, and it can be hard to obtain clear advice on a budget, as law firms typically charge an hourly rate rather than a fixed fee for assessing your claim. A claim might not be commercially viable as the costs of litigation outweigh what you can reasonably expect to receive. Our solicitors will help you make an informed decision telling you what you are likely to realistically achieve if you are successful and what you can expect to pay in legal fees.

Testimonials

What our clients say

I certainly appreciate the response from Ian Carson, always picks the phone up and prompt fast service. I would recommend to all friends and family and already have.
Mukesh Kanabar CEO and Founder, Printed4You Ltd
Great customer service with experienced staff. Mark and the HJS team worked well with us and took the stress out of a situation. Advised us proactively to achieve the the best outcome for our situation.
Paul Smith COO, Incuto
Working with Harper James feel less transactional and more ongoing. For example, having Simon Smith, who understands our business and is able to quickly provide a second opinion on litigation, and does that drawing on a wide base of experience is super important.
Linz Darlington Founder, Homehold
As with any business, we need access to good quality legal advice without the fear of facing huge legal fees. The service provided by Harper James is ideal because they are always available to assist and we know that the advice provided is of outstanding quality, with pricing that is cost effective and completely transparent.
