Samantha Lenox

Samantha is Head of Employee Incentives at Harper James. Having qualified as a solicitor in 2001, she has been advising entrepreneurial businesses on their employee and management ownership programmes for more than 20 years.  

Samantha supports clients with the design, implementation, communication and operation of employee and management incentive arrangements which help businesses and their investors to achieve their growth ambitions. She is also a strong advocate of the employee ownership model and has supported many companies to transition into broad-based employee ownership, commonly using the employee ownership trust (EOT) route.  

I am passionate about advising businesses to create and operate employee ownership programmes to support business growth and wealth creation for all stakeholders including founders, investors, management and employee owners.

She provides guidance to businesses from start up through to maturity, including listing, operating in the UK and internationally, and has significant experience working with companies which are supported by venture capital and private equity. Samantha also commonly advises on the implications of corporate transactions for management and employee ownership programmes, acting for corporates, management teams and investors. 

I was a senior director at management consultants’ Alvarez & Marsal advising on equity incentives in the tax business. I worked at both leading law firms (including Simmons & Simmons and Taylor Wessing) and for 12 years in the Big Four including 10 years at PwC.

Samantha is a chartered tax advisor and a trustee of Ownership at Work, a UK charity working to increase and broaden knowledge and understanding of employee ownership.  

In my spare time, I spend a lot of time ferrying my teenage kids around and I also enjoy fashion, art, travelling and supporting Arsenal football club.
